Job Description
  • Working with secondary schools and people with a disability.
  • Supports individuals placed in SEPs, OJTs or direct placements by American Job Center (AJC) staff
  • Provides frequent supportive follow-up and monitoring of participants' new employment to assure seamless transition and/or provide support and facilitate access and engagement to appropriate resources (for barriers outside the purview of AJC)
  • Meets with site supervisors and employers to conduct mid-point and exit participant and worksite evaluations
  • Reports updates to SEP Coordinator and assigned JSC using CT Hires case notes and upload all documents, progress reports, etc.
  • Identifies additional interventions, supports, and resources to ensure SEP success
  • Supports participants transition to unsubsidized employment or back to the JSC for job search assistance and other AJC services upon conclusion of SEP
  • Demonstrates understanding of target employment sector and career pathways for customers
  • Knowledgeable of outside resources, programs, and other services for customers
  • Provides motivational support to customers during the job search process
  • Helps identify new community resources to assist job seekers with barriers
  • Works with community partners to identify resources and develop MOUs outlining referral process
  • Identifies and coordinates with local partners around appropriate resources and acts as a liaison navigator to support participant access/engagement
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and ability to work across all levels of management and staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
  • Extensive standing, sitting, computer, phone, and deskwork required primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours, although flexible hours may be required
  • Travel when necessary
