Job Summary

Engineering researches, plans, designs, tests, and develops products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, electrical systems, mechanical, thermal hydraulic, or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and energy use. Applies research to planning, developing, and testing mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support
    • Provide lab support to design engineers and other team members by assisting with running lab tests and technical evaluations.
  • Testing and Prototyping
    • Develop and conduct experiments and tests to validate designs and prototypes.
    • Assist with setup and instrumentation of test units to ensure compliance with test procedures and accuracy of data.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues and challenges.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
    • Implement cost-effective solutions to enhance performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records, including design files, testing data, and reports.
    • Communicate project progress and findings through technical reports and presentations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 8-10+ years of experience.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Primarily site based with less than 10% travel expected (primarily domestic to Ingersoll Rand testing and manufacturing facilities).
