Marrakech is looking for staff to work with our wonderful participants with developmental disabilities, physical, behavioral or other needs in a group home setting. We seek nurturing people who will provide care with respect and dignity as well as promote independence and community integration.

This residential group home is looking for a Manager to supervise the day to day operations of a residential group home of 6 wonderful individuals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures that the home is in compliance with all applicable licensing regulations (DDS, Health Inspection, Fire Marshall, ICF (if applicable) etc.

  • On-call duties for Marrakech residences as per schedule.

  • Provides supervision to the Assistant Manager/Supervisor and all direct care staff.

  • Meets with the Marrakech Management Team including the Director, Vice President, Behaviorist and Nursing regularly to discuss residential issues in the home.

  • Ensures individual finances/bank accounts and petty cash monies are properly maintained. This includes receipts and other documentation.

  • Completes all habilitation reviews/reports in a timely fashion and submits the completed reports to the Program Director

  • Develops, implements and ensures staff implementation of individual teaching strategies and programs utilizing the PST process

  • Coordinates and runs all PST meetings, including timely notices of meetings to all parties.

  • Ensures that all admissions, transfers, and discharge records are kept in accordance with DDS and/or ICF regulations (if applicable)

  • Participates in the hiring process including 2nd interviews, individual site visits, and interviews external and internal applicants as required

  • Coordinates all resident discharges and transfers

  • Ensures that all new staff are thoroughly orientated to the home, complete a shadowing, attends regularly scheduled staff meetings, and complete all required in-service training.

  • Provides ongoing supervision, training, and support to all staff as needed

  • Works with Client Funds Coordinator to ensure that individuals are receiving entitlements (i.e. SSI, Medicaid, DSS Subsidy, Rent Subsidy etc.)

  • Completes regular site spot checks at responsible sites at times supervisory staff not present. Reports findings and corrects noted issues. Spot checks other agency sites as assigned.

  • Ensures that the staffing patterns stay within the required level based on Critical Information and the financial parameters of the program

  • Implements program daily schedules including daily living skills and community recreation

  • Ensures that program participants are receiving all services as identified on their service plan

  • Maintains individual records (i.e. case record book, medical book) according to policy. This includes ensuring all reports are present and the demographic sheet updated annually or if any changes occur during the year

  • Ensures the accurate and timely completion of individual assessments

  • Maintains positive contact with individual individuals, parents, guardians, vocational programs, physicians, funding sources and therapists on an ongoing basis

  • Ensures that the medical/emotional needs of the individuals are being met by coordinating medication administration, medical appointments, and meaningful recreation and leisure activities

  • Fosters community belonging through individual centered appropriate activities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is responsible for direct supervision of the Assistant Manager, Supervisor (If applicable) and direct-care staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or two years related progressive experience and/or training.

  • Two years of progressive experience working with people who have a developmental disability. One year must include supervisory responsibilities.

  • Any other variation of education/experience will be reviewed on an individual basis.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid CT Driver's license

  • DDS Medication Certification

  • PMT

Shift Details:

  • Su-Th 8a-4p (flex, 40 FT)

Rate for the position starts at $20.37 per hour, increasing to $20.91 after successfully completing introductory period.
