Database Performance Analyst:

COCC is actively seeking a skilled Database Performance Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the primarily the performance of our Oracle database systems to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Exposure and experience with Microsoft SQL server a strong plus!

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze Oracle database performance and conduct performance tuning using Oracle tools such as OEM.
  • Secondary focus of monitoring and analyzing MS SQL systems whose applications interact with the Oracle DBs
  • Identify bottlenecks and potential solutions, implementing fixes and enhancements as needed.
  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement effective Oracle database schemas, queries, and procedures.
  • Develop strategies and best practices for Oracle database performance optimization.
  • Prepare regular reports on Oracle database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Assist in capacity planning and future expansion requirements for Oracle databases.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for Oracle databases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in Oracle database administration, performance analysis, and tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database management systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server a strong plus!
  • Familiarity with Oracle data modeling and design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server a plus
  • Knowledge of emerging Oracle database technologies and trends.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 annually.
