About the Role
HARMAN's diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. The primary role will be to work alongside other members of the automotive legal team.
As a legal intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of legal work, contributing to the day-to-day operations of the legal team. This internship is designed to provide exposure to real-world legal issues and enhance your understanding of legal practice.
Your Team
This role will report to the Automotive Division Counsel, supporting Harman's Global Automotive Legal Team.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with other legal interns and team members on various projects.
Create, develop, and implement special legal department projects.
Participate in legal and business team meetings and discussions.
Analyze legal issues and provide recommendations to the legal team.
Participate in discussions on legal strategy.
Support automotive sales teams in the RFQ process.
Assist with creating and managing budgets.
Assist in communicating with internal clients.
Attend internal client meetings and take notes as needed.
Conduct legal research on various topics, statutes, and case law.
Prepare summaries and analysis of legal issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
What is Nice to Have
Previous entry level work experience strongly preferred
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan-
Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 40 hours per week
