TSC's Innovation & Product Cell (IPC) is currently seeking a Senior Antenna Engineer in Huntsville, AL with an educational and/or industry focus in the analysis and design of various RF/microwave antennas and phased array systems for communications, radar and electronic warfare systems .

Responsibilities:

This position requires a flexible individual with experience in rapid, new product development. TSC's IPC team is chartered with developing new products by leveraging technology across TSC. This team is responsible for rapid development, demonstration, and initial product rollout. This position requires an individual familiar with all phases of product development and deployment to include changing requirements, hardware, software, and mechanical integration dependencies, field testing, and configuration management. The individual in this position needs to conceptualize, design, build, and test varied RF/Microwave antennas in support of multiple product lines.

  • RF circuit analysis, design, and testing
  • Perform design studies and analysis of alternatives.
  • Collect and analyze RF performance data to validate expected versus measured data.
  • Support all phases of detailed system and subsystem development activities, including upfront analysis, prototyping, end item development and evaluation in laboratory and field test environments.
  • Test and debug designs using common lab equipment to include vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Work within a multi-discipline team of systems, hardware, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers to build complete solutions and products.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team locally and across physical locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree and minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in industry
  • Experience with the following areas is required:
    • RF/Microwave circuit design & test
    • Strong understanding of RF engineering principles including VSWR, Gain, Linearity, etc.
    • Solid understanding of antenna theory and principles with more than 5 years of antenna design experience including Phased Arrays from VHF to Ka-Band
    • Experience with antenna measurement instruments and systems including Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Near Field and Far Field chambers, etc.
    • Solid experience with antenna design tools such as HFSS, CST and MATLAB
    • Proficiency with electrical schematic capture tools such as ORCAD, Altium, etc.
    • Basic CAD skills for antenna design and collaboration with mechanical engineers (Solidworks, Creo, AutoCAD)
  • Possess excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Able to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Degree & a minimum of 3 to 5 years industry experience,
  • High degree of proficiency with antenna design tools such as HFSS, CST and MATLAB
  • Experience with AnSoft/Ansys HFSS, AWR Microwave office, or similar simulation tools
  • Experience with radar, SIGINT, and/or electronic warfare product development
  • Experience transitioning designs into manufacturable products.
  • Experience designing to and mitigating colocation & EMI/EMC requirements (i.e., MIL-STD-461 & 464)
