Responsibilities

1. Accurately and appropriately follows established treatment plan(s), by consistently applying therapeutic principles and practices.

2. Receptive to constructive input and follows through on recommendations.

3. Monitors established goals and documents achievement of outcomes.

4. Reports changes in patient status and updates on progression of plan of care to the supervising physical therapist(s), uses physical therapist's input and guidance to alter treatment plan.

5. Informs therapist of observation/supervisory visits/re-evaluation needs.

6. Shows sensitivity to cultural backgrounds.

7. Maintains timely and accurate documentation in accordance with department policy.

8. Regularly assess needs for and provides patient/ family with educational materials and resources.

9. Seeks opportunities to advance skills and knowledge from other staff, professional organizations, and attending continuing education programs.

10. Actively participates in departmental student program.

11. Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self Development. Abides by the YNHHS Standards of Professional Behavior.

12. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.

UNIT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Takes responsibility to monitor own schedule and follow-up with appropriate staff as needed.

2. Consistently applies orthopedic principles and assessment techniques during treatment.

3. Demonstrates understanding and working knowledge of all departmental modalities.

4. Maintains productivity at departmental standards.

DIRECTION OF OTHERS

Provides direction to students from affiliated programs. Assists in orientation of new employees.


Qualifications

EDUCATION

Associates degree in Physical Therapy Assistance

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in hospital based or inpatient facility helpful..

LICENSURE

CT PTA license or temporary licensure is acceptable (current CT Licensure within 3 months of hire)
