Job Mission

Without directsupervision prepares, cleans, and coats precision optics using a variety ofequipment. Verifies accuracy of finished product and supports process and productdevelopment. Maintains vacuum coating systems to maximize chamber utilization.Troubleshooting and quick decision making is needed on a daily basis. Theidentified candidate must have knowledge of computers and possess excellentvisual acuity skills and be detail oriented.
Reports to Group Lead with key interfaces to other departments withinManufacturing, Logistics, more cooperation with PE.

Job Description

Without directsupervision, pitch polish optics to desired specification using spindle polishingmachines. Clean, inspect, and test optics using a variety of equipment. Verify the accuracy of finished product, as well as support processes andproduct development. Accountabilities:
-Ability to polish precision optics on conventional spindles.
-Ability to work safely on fragile, high value optics.
-Perform blocking and unblocking of parts.
-Ability to work with pitch, pressing and cutting laps.
-Perform visual surface inspection of all optical components to ISO standards.
-Protect and clean components.
-Measure work-piece for conformance to specifications using various measuringequipment, including but not limited to the Zygo Interferometer.
-Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
-Follows written and verbal English work instructions that describe the processand the required measurements.
-Possesses blueprint interpretation skills.
-Be familiar with using the following measurement tools: micrometers, calipers,dial indicators, height gages, and pH meters.
-Maintain a safe operating environment by adhering to safety procedures andregulations.
-Candidate will be required to wear PPE where appropriate and embrace the ASML8S requirements.

Education

High School / trade school graduate / G.E.D, or equivalent experience.

Experience

-Proven knowledge (5+Years) of optical spindle polishing.
-Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math andgeometry.
-Knowledge of SAP a plus.

Personal skills

-Ability to workindividually or in a team setting with other technicians and/or engineers.
-Ability to cross train in a flexible manufacturing cell environment.
-Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and managechanging priorities.
-Ability to effectively communicate one on one and in small groups tooperators, management and engineers.

-Production areas are maintained at 70 to 76 degrees and 40 to 50% relative humidity.
-The noise level in the manufacturing areas is usually moderate.
-Occasional travel may be required.
